AWC’s Lori Koch and special guests Levi Huffman (D.R. Johnson Wood Innovations) and Iain MacDonald (TallWood Design Institute) participate in a panel discussion on Cross Laminated Timber (CLT). Covering the introduction of CLT into US standards, through current state-of-the-practice, and delving into ongoing efforts in research to help guide the future of CLT construction. This panel provides a high-level discussion of the progress in mass timber construction in the US to this point and highlight exciting ongoing work in both industry and academia.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Gain awareness of current US codes and standards related to cross-laminated timber
  2. Discuss concepts that can assist designers in developing more effective CLT designs
  3. Learn about state-of-the-practice CLT manufacturing in the U.S.
